OpenCore Legacy Patcher 0.6.2が公開 ―AMD GCNのDRMサポートと全てのモデルで連係カメラが可能に

OpenCore Legacy Patcherの新しいバージョンである「OpenCore Legacy Patcher 0.6.2」が2023年3月28日(現地時間)に公開されました。

OpenCore Legacy Patcher 0.6.2では安定性を向上するアップデートの他、AMD GCN GPUでのDRMのサポート、非Metal GPUを搭載したMacへの改善など多数の修正と改善が加わりました。

OpenCore Legacy Patcher 0.6.2について

OpenCore Legacy Patcherは最新のmacOSをインストールすることができなくなった古いMacに対し、最新のmacOSをインストールすることを可能にするミコラ氏が主導するプロジェクトです。

今回リリースされたOpenCore Legacy Patcher 0.6.2はmacOS Ventura 13.3のリリースに合わせて、公開されたもので、macOS Ventura 13.3にアップデートされるかたは、事前に新しいOpenCore Legacy Patcher 0.6.2をインストールするようにとミコラ氏は呼び掛けています。

3802コンパイラをベースとするMetal GPUのサポート

macOS Venturaでは多数のハードウェアがサポートを失いました。
OpenCore Legacy Patcher 0.6.2ではその中で3802コンパイラをベースとするMetal GPUのサポートを回復させました。

これにより、サポートを回復させるにはAMFIを無効にする必要があるものの、Intel Ivy Bridge、Intel Haswell、NVIDIA Keplerが使用できるようになります。

AMD GCN GPU での DRM のサポート

OpenCore Legacy Patcher 0.6.2ではmacOS VenturaでAMD GCN GPUのDRMサポートを回復できるようになりました。

これによりAmazon Prime VideoやNetflix、Disney+ など発生していたDRM 再生の問題が解決されることが期待されます。

ただし、現在ハードウェアエンコーディングに関しては実験段階とのことで、AppleTV+が不安定になるかもしれないとしています。

非Metal GPUを搭載したMacへの変更

モダンなmacOS では描画や処理の多くをMetal に依存しているため、Metal を使用できないMacでは多くの問題を引き起こします。

OpenCore Legacy Patcher 0.6.2では非Metal 向けに実装されたバイナリに更新があり、メニューバーのぼかし彩度の改善やBluetooth 接続ボタンを含むシステム設定のホバー効果修正などの変更がありました。
